A few dresses

Last week, Maddy over at The Inspired Bride posted a slew of gorgeous bridesmaid dresses.
Here are a couple I am loving:

from Priscilla of Boston
Just love the cut, so stylish and classy.
I generally shy away from pink but I kinda like this one!

from J.Crew
Very soft and whimsical, love the grecian feel.

from Vineyard
Love the detail on the bodice of this dress!

See any trends? I guess it's the v-neck that really appeals to me!
And I would probably change the color of all of these for actual bridesmaids.

Colors! Green & Purple

I am always on the lookout for a perfect color pallette for my future wedding. Yes, I think my tastes will change over time, but that's just the point ... find something that won't be cliche or a tacky trend in 10 years.

Recently I've been considering mostly white with accents of pastel purple and green. Like this pallette from The Inspired Bride:

And I really like white as the main color because I am so in love with pictures like this:

Just like a breath of fresh air right?

My dilemma comes in with bridesmaid dresses though - I'm not sure how I feel about either pastel green or purple dresses. David's Bridal really does not have a good color green. The closest Alfred Angelo has to my idea of a good green is their Celadon.

Their Lettuce isn't so bad either ...

But I'm still not totally in love with the way the green looks on these girls. And isn't purple just a bit too much??

Any thoughts?

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

Fall is here! And personally, I love everything that is Autumn. (Maybe a little bit because my birthday is in October.) And I love everything Pumpkin! Pumpkin pie is my absolute favorite pie. And I've been craving something Pumpkin for a couple weeks. So when I saw this recipe on Melanie's blog http://mysweetsavannah.blogspot.com/ it just sounded so perfect I even went out to buy a muffin pan!

1 2/3 c flour
1 c. sugar
1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup plain canned pumpkin
1 stick butter, melted
6 oz. milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.
In an electric mixer beat the eggs.
Add pumpkin and butter.
Mix well, but do not over mix.
Add the dry ingredients a little at a time and mix.
Add chocolate chips.
Bake for about 25 minutes

They turned out pretty great! The chocolate chips are really a yummy addition. They weren't quite bread or muffin like, a bit more dense, not sure if that was me or the way they were supposed to be.

Definitely a hit for me and Jason though!

Mental Dump

Since my recent graduation, starting a new job, and subsequently forced to sit in front of a computer all day I have been a very avid blog reader. Now with all these great ideas, cool pictures, and fun projects that are spinning around my head I've decided I need a place to put them.

You will probably find me blogging a lot about decorating and weddings. The decorating blogs truly are my favorites, since moving into an apartment all by myself I've been looking at these a lot. However, I've been finding a lot of inspiration and things I would love, but just can't have in my tiny apartment.
Weddings are just fun to think about. I will not be getting married for another couple years, but it's never too early to plan! And I love looking for unique ideas.

In time, this might turn into a regular, life update blog. Like when I get married and have kids, but right now who needs that when you have facebook? And really, I'm looking to make this whatever I want it to be.

I also recently started a blog strictly for book reviews that you can see over at semper-ad-lucem.blogspot.com

Hope you enjoy this and I would love any and all input!!
